Destiny-LogoBefore I started playing Destiny, I had not played the beta and I had not read any other opinions about it. I wanted to give it all my attention without being affected by anything else. This WAS the company that gave me Halo and I was hoping to get a similar experience.

On a side note, I bought Destiny on Xbox One a week before launch so it was ready to go as soon as it was released. This is the way games should be purchased, optical discs are the worst possible media and all those who fought to keep it this generation should be ashamed. Anyway…

When I first started playing Destiny, the first thing I noticed was how similar the look and feel was to Halo. For me that is not a bad thing, but I thought that a game that was in development for 6 years would have it’s own style. I guess if it works don’t fix it. Even the enemies move like the covenant sometimes. Watch a Vandal or Captain move and dodge and if you squint your eyes you might think you are fighting elites again.

As for story, it does seem a little thin. At least it seems a little thin to me, perhaps because I am stuck comparing this game to Halo and I want to love my guardian as much as the Master Chief. Perhaps in time and with more content I will, but as it stands right now, I’d much rather by in Mjolnir armor talking to Cortana.

I’m not going to go on about gameplay and graphics and sound. This is a polished game by Bungie and you know what to expect. This is a FUN game so far (even after they killed my loot cave *sniff*) and I do recommend it. While you may think this could just as easily be Halo Online if a few familiar characters were¬†here, it really is it’s own game and I am curious to see how it evolves over time.
